GCSE Results 2024
Posted: 22nd August 2024Cultural and language barriers have not stood in the way of young people achieving in their GCSEs.
Year 11 students returned to school to discover what they had achieved in the summer’s exams.
For some, the last few months and years have involved not only studying a range of subjects, but learning English as a secondary language at the same time.
Top performing students this year include –
- Abu Mostafa Munni, with three Grade 9, three Grade 8, one Grade 7, one Grade 6, one Grade 5 and one Grade 4
- George Jardan, with two Grade 9, seven Grade 8 and two Grade 7
- Cezar-Daniel Muresan, with two Grade 8, two Grade 7, four Grade 6 and two Grade 5
- Anum Hamid, with one Grade 7, six Grade 6, one Grade 5 and one Grade 4
Headteacher John Blaney said: “As always, we are very proud of the successes of all of our students.
“Despite some of the many challenges our students have experienced on their journey with us, the majority of them leave with the qualifications they need to secure a place on their chosen course of study.
“A large proportion of our students join us new to the country and, despite the cultural and language barriers, they have left us making excellent progress and achieving some very good grades. We are always impressed with their resilience and determination.
“We wish them all well as they leave us and move on to the next stage of their learning.”
