Event Operations (DT)
Qualification: Technical Award (Equivalent to GCSE)

Your main focal industry after the first term will be hospitality and catering, where you will develop skills and knowledge of food safety and hygiene, industrial production of food items and professional service. There will be ample opportunity for you to further develop your practical cookery skills, service styles for specific client groups and planning full events for carrying them out in school. There will be external visits to gain industrial knowledge of event promotion and production in the local area, as well as experiencing internal professional speakers. Time will also be spent revising specific aspects of Event Operations in preparation for the final exam.
Assessment: There are two assessment components.
Component one (60%): Practical Exam / Internal Project
Component two (40%): Written examination
