The Year 11 students returned today to find out what grades they had achieved in the summer’s exams.
Panyin picked up four Grade 9, two Grade 8, three Grade 7 and one Grade 5, while sister Ataa achieved one Grade 9, two Grade 8, four Grade 7, one Grade 6 and one Grade 5.
In the attainment tables, both made more progress than they were expected to on joining secondary school – with Panyin leaping up 4.49 on her expected grades and Ata making 3.37 levels of progress.
They are both heading to Brampton Manor Academy, with Panyin studying biology, chemistry and English, while Ata focuses on biology, chemistry, maths and history.
Panyin said: “I am so happy!
“My teachers have really helped me. I was poorly for a time and could not think or study. But, my teachers made it easier for me and allowed me to take breaks.
“I thank them – and God – for helping me. I would not have been able to do it without them.”
Ataa said: “My results are really good.
“The school has helped me with interventions and encouraging us to work hard. They have helped us to get the amazing results we have got today. I have been really happy at Royal Docks.
“It has been really good to study alongside my twin. Whenever I have been down, she has encouraged me. I am looking forward to going to college with her, too.”

Head girl Lorena Boldijar has secured a private school scholarship following her top GCSE results.
The Year 11 student will study English literature, history, French A-levels and an Extended Project Qualification at Felsted School, in Essex.
She was given the opportunity thanks to the long-term links between Royal Docks and Felsted School and is now preparing to become a full-term boarder at the independent school.
Lorena, who collected two Grade 8, three Grade 7, three Grade 6 and two Grade 5 in her GCSEs today, said: “I am very excited! I have got all the grades I needed and now have a lot of opportunities awaiting me. It is incredible.
“Royal Docks has given me so many opportunities, from roles within the school to this opportunity with Felsted School.
“For working class students in working class areas, this is not something everyone can achieve. The fact Royal Docks has given me this opportunity is outstanding.
“It is nerve-wracking taking this next step as I am leaving my family for the first time, but I am very excited to be independent.
“My family are amazed. They brought me to this country from Romania when I was six months old to give me more opportunities that I could not have got there. I have done them proud.”
Lorena submitted a letter, attended an interview with the head and sat an IQ test before being offered the scholarship.
