Tower of London visit for studies
Posted: 10th May 2019Students got to apply their history knowledge during a trip to the Tower of London.
Year 7 history students from Royal Docks Academy toured around the landmark and attended a workshop to support their studies.
They also got to handle objects from the past to investigate the different functions the tower has had over the years, including a home, a prison, a zoo and a site of execution.
Patricia Molloy, head of humanities, said: “Students were able to look at lots of primary evidence and historical artefacts with the aim of examining the different roles the Tower had and also deciding whether or not to trust the evidence they were given.
“The Year 7s really did the school proud. Their behaviour was excellent and the organisers praised them for their fantastic contribution to discussions.”
